System Is not Booting Up, Meaning of different Beep Patterns Of GIGABYTE Motherboard


This happens with us many times, that our system don't boot up at all and keeps making anonymous beep sounds.

As this happens very rare, we usually fail to remember what each beep says about the system condition.

So here are the list of common beep codes of a GIGABYTE motherboard.

A) AWARD BIOS 

1. 1short beep :System normal
2. 2 short beep :CMOS Error
3. 1 long beep and 1 short beep:Memory error
4. 1 long beep and 2 short beep:Graphic card error
5. 1 long beep and 3 short beep :AGP error
6. 1 long beep and 9 short beep :Memory Error
7. Continuous long beep :Memory not correctly installed
8. Continuous short beep :Power supply unit failed

B) AMI BIOS 

1. 1 short beep :Memory Error
2. 2 short beep:Memory parity check error.
3. 3 short beep :basic memory 64K address check error
4. 4 short beep :Real Time Clock malfunction .
5. 5 short beep :CPU error
6. 6 short beep:Keyboard error
7. 7 short beep :CPU interruption error
8. 8 short beep:Graphic card error
9. 9 short beep :Memory error
10. 10 short beep :CMOS error
11. 11 short beep :CPU cache memory malfunction

These codes are only applicable for GIGABYTE motherboards. I will upload the solve or solution for each of this problems later in my blog.
